6th grade options: (Choose one of the following.)

1. Choose one of the articles. Create a chart with a list of 20 main ideas you could use to write a descriptive essay verses a persuasive essay.

Ex.
Descriptive
The volcano in Peru affected its environment a lot.

Persuasive
The Little Ice Age was a cold snap but has nothing to do with global warming now.

2. Write a descriptive paragraph briefly telling about each of the aspects of science that are used in hockey. Be sure to have a main idea sentence and a closing sentence.

3. Write a summary paragraph for each of the sections in the Bug Bites article. In each summary tell the information and opinions from that section in a shorter way.
