Compare and Contrast Weather

As you may have noticed, we have been having a lot of interesting weather lately; big thunder storms, dust clouds, rain-rain-rain, and humid sticky air. Your task today will be to gather weather data from three different locations. Then you will put that information into charts and graphs so that you can compare the three different locations and find out what is similar and what is different in the weather patterns.

Step 1. Go to weather.com. You will use this site to gather weather data for three different locations. Type "Salome, AZ" in the Local Weather search box. Then you will scroll down until you find 4 yellow boxes labeled "Details, Video, Text, and Averages." You should select the yellow box labeled "Averages."

Step 2. You are now looking at a line graph that shows the average temperatures for Salome over a 12 month period. You will need to record three sets of data in your notebook:
a. monthly average highs
b. monthly average lows
c. monthly average rainfall

Step 3. Repeat step 1 and 2 for the location "Neah Bay." Record the three same sets of data for Neah Bay. Keep the data organized and separate from the Salome data.

Step 4. Repeat step 1 and 2 for a location of your choice. Record the same three types of data.

Step 5. Go to CreateAGraph where we will input our weather data to create charts that will help us compare our information.
